Easily Boost Your Cell Phone Signal at Home. Poor signal strength could be your carrier’s fault, or it could be because of signal-blocking materials in your home’s walls. Whatever the cause, you can boost that signal and get the maximum number of bars at home. Or, better yet, just use Wi-Fi calling on a modern phone.
Many cellular carriers offer inexpensive–or maybe even free–devices that you can plug in at home to extend a cellular signal. But Wi-Fi calling is a better solution that will remove the need for a strong cellular signal wherever you have good Wi-Fi, as long as your carrier offers it.

Wi-Fi Calling and SMS

Wi-Fi calling has become increasingly widespread in the last few years. If you have an iPhone 5c or any newer iPhone, you can use Wi-Fi calling. It’s also built into many modern Android phones. This is the best solution if your phone and cellular carrier supports it.

Essentially, Wi-Fi calling allows your smartphone to make calls and send text messages over a Wi-Fi network. Your home probably has Wi-Fi, so Wi-Fi calling will let you use your existing wireless router instead of needing a new, specialized device. You can just improve your Wi-Fi signal strength, and all your devices will benefit!


This feature works transparently. When your phone is on Wi-Fi and has a poor cellular signal, it will connect to the Wi-Fi network and your phone calls and text will be sent and arrive over the Wi-Fi network. When you leave the Wi-Fi network, your phones and calls will be sent over the cellular network as usual. This is all designed to hand off automatically, so you could start a phone call on your Wi-Fi network and your phone would automatically switch to the cellular network as you walk out the door, with no interruptions. And unlike some older “Wi-FI calling” services, this doesn’t require a special app.
Wi-Fi calling only works on a phone if your cellular carrier supports it, but many cellular carriers have jumped on board. In the USA, AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile, MetroPCS, and Vodafone all support Wi-Fi calling. Various cellular carriers in other countries support it, too. Consult Apple’s list of carriers that support iPhone features and check if your carrier offers the “Wi-Fi calling” feature on an iPhone.

To enable Wi-Fi calling on an iPhone, head to Settings > Phone > Wi-Fi Calling.

There’s no big list of carriers and devices that work with Wi-Fi calling on Android, so consult your carrier or search the web for more information if you’re using Android.

To enable Wi-Fi calling on an Android phone, head to Settings > Wireless and Networks > More > Wi-Fi Calling. Phone manufacturers can customize Android, so this setting may also be located in a different location or called something else on your Android phone. Again, your carrier will likely have instructions for you.



Femtocells / Microcells

A femtocell–or “microcell”–is a small, low-power cellular base station that connects to the cellular network via your broadband Internet connection. Essentially, it’s a small cellular signal tower that will provide a signal in and near your home, connecting to the larger mobile network over your Internet connection. This makes it ideal for situations where you don’t even have a signal bar of coverage you can boost at home. The only “catch” is that your Internet connection must have a high enough download speed. Different carriers require different minimum speeds, but you should be fine as long as you have a solid broadband connection.

If you can use Wi-Fi calling on your devices, that’s a better and easier solution that doesn’t require any more hardware. But femtocells can provide a signal to older devices that can’t do Wi-Fi.

Ask your cellular carrier if they offer this sort of product and find out how much it will cost you. As with boosters and repeaters, a femtocell may be available at a steep discount from your carrier in areas they know they have poor cellular service.

You can also buy them easily on Amazon or almost any decent tech store–for instance the one pictured below works for AT&T and supports LTE (though it is a bit pricey), or you can get one that supports Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T, Sprint, Cricket, and many others, but you won’t get LTE support. Of course, since you likely have Wi-Fi in your house, LTE isn’t really a big deal and the 3G will work just fine for calls and texts.

Watch out, though–microcells create a cellular signal anyone can connect to, and they use your Internet connection as the backbone. If you’re in an urban area with a lot of people around, a lot of devices may connect to your microcell, taking up your precious bandwidth and pushing you towards your Internet service provider’s data cap. Some microcells allow you to create a whitelist so only your own devices can connect, but many just allow anyone to connect.
Wi-Fi calling is the future. With Wi-Fi calling integrated into your phone, you don’t need to buy a specialized device. Your home Wi-Fi router works. And, when you go somewhere else where you have a poor signal, all they need is a Wi-Fi network and you’ll be able to get a phone calls and SMS messages through it.

If your devices and cellular carrier support Wi-Fi calling, you should definitely just use that rather than buying a signal booster or microcell.

Pokemon Go Launch Postponed Again in Japan After Email Leak


Game-maker Niantic has postponed today’s scheduled launch of Pokémon Go in Japan following an email leak.

Yesterday we reported that the game was due to go live in Japan today (Wednesday), but the companies behind Pokémon Go have canceled that plan, a source close to the launch told TechCrunch. One major reason for that change of heart is that internal communication from McDonalds Japan, the game’s sponsor, detailing the launch made its way to internet forums (including 2ch, “Japan’s Reddit”) and photo site Imgur.

An initial morning launch time was pushed back to early afternoon as the email went viral. Later, however, the companies decided to cancel today’s launch entirely due to concerns that the hype generated would overload the game, our source explained. We don’t have an immediate update on when the game will finally go live in Japan, but understand that the launch is “imminent” but unspecified.

The postponement will frustrate many in Japan who are still waiting but, on the positive side, Niantic, Nintendo and the Pokémon Company — the three firms behind the smash game — are confident that, if the game is launched right, their serves can handle the undoubtedly huge demand that Pokémon Go will generate in Japan. Ninatic CEO John Hanke previously cautioned that the company needed time to ensure it had enough servers to cope with a deluge of Pokémon addicts in Japan.

The delay means also that we will have to wait to see the impact of the first “sponsored location” in the game. McDonalds has agreed to become the first paying sponsor, turning its 3,000 stores in Japan into “gyms” where players can battle, adding a new source of revenue to the game beyond its already lucrative in-app purchases and potentially driving real-world traffic to McDonalds stores. That’ll be a partnership to watch since there are plans to offer sponsored locations in other parts of the world.

The success of Pokémon Go is unprecedented. Just two weeks after its U.S. debut, it has reportedly passed 30 million downloads and $35 million in revenue, and surpassed Twitter on active users and Facebook on engagement. That has doubled the valuation of Nintendo — yes, in just two weeks — and all without launching in Japan, the home of Pokémon, yet.

Pokémon Go is available in more than 30 countries right now thanks to a steady rollout across Europe last week. WebyFeed understands that Japan is planned as the first launch in Asia and, once the game is available there, it will be extended to other countries in the region.

THIS Is How You Can Access Tour Computer From Your Smartphone

Now you can access your computer with an iPhone as if you are sitting in front of it. The two methods described here work the best and they are free to use too. Let’s have a look at them.

Method 1: Using TeamViewer

Install TeamViewer on your iPhone from the AppStore. This app provides support to technicians who make changes your computer over long distances.
Open the app and create a new account by providing your name, email address and a password for your account.
Install the TeamViewer app on your computer using teamviewer.com/en/download/. The two apps will work together to provide a safe control.
Open the TeamViewer app on the computer. Click on ‘computers & contacts’ at the bottom of the screen. In the window that comes up, login using your TeamViewer account details. Minimise TeamViewer, it will run automatically now.
For extra security, set up a personal password by clicking on Extras >> Options >> Security in the TeamViewer app on each computer you want to control.
Now everything is set and you can control you computers from your iPhone in the same way as you do when sitting in front of the computer.
  • Login to the TeamViewer app on your iPhone.
  • Click the Computers icon at the bottom of your screen, and log into your account.
  • Click the My Computers icon to view a list of all the computers.
  • Click the icon next to the computer you want to control. The icon has two arrows in opposite directions.
  • Enter the Personal Password for the computer you want to control.
  • Click the keyboard icon at the bottom right of your screen to access zoom, settings, and a virtual keyboard.
  • Access files, programs, and operate your computer with touch commands as if you were sitting in front of it.
  • To close the connection, click the X icon on the lower left.

Method 2: Using Chrome Remote Desktop
Open a Chrome browser on your computer. In case you don’t have it, you can visit google.com/chrome to download it.
Login to your google account. If you don’t have one, then create a new account since you will need it.
On the chrome browser, open the web store and search for Chrome Remote Desktop. Click on “Add to Chrome” button and then in the window that opens, click on “Add App”.
Open Chrome Remote Desktop by clicking the green “Launch App” button near the upper right of your screen. Click the “Authorize” button at the lower part of the next pop-up window, and then click “Allow”. Click the “Get Started” button under the My Computers heading, and then click the “Enable Remote Connections” button. Create a PIN of 6 digits or more. This is to log into your remote computer. Click “Yes” on the popup window that asks if you want to allow this program to make changes to your computer. Click “OK” to finish.
Download Chrome Remote Desktop app on your iPhone.
You can now start controlling your computer using your iPhone.
  • Open the Chrome Remote Desktop app on your iPhone, and log into your Google account. Select the computer you want to control, enter its PIN and click “connect”.
  • You are about to control your computer with your phone’s touch commands.
  • Click the keyboard icon at the bottom right of your screen to access zoom, settings, and a virtual keyboard.
  • Access files, programs, and operate your computer with touch commands as if you were sitting in front of it.
  • To close the connection, click the X icon on the lower left.

Motorola on Thursday unveiled the third-generation Moto E smartphone in the UK. Called the
Moto E3, it will be available from early September in the country at
GBP 99 (roughly Rs. 8,800) in Black and White colour variants. At this point, the company
has not detailed availability in other regions, or disclosed all the specifications of the
smartphone.
The Moto E3 will be available in a dual-SIM variant in some regions, and runs
Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. It features a 5-inch HD (720x1280 pixel) IPS display,
and is powered by a quad-core processor, though Motorola has not specified the
chipset or the amount of RAM it is paired with. The smartphone features an 8-megapixel
rear camera with LED flash, and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.
The Lenovo-owned company has not specified how much inbuilt storage is provided in the
Moto E3, but confirmed it will be expandable via microSD card. The maximum card capacity
has not been specified either.
The 4G-enabled smartphone features the standard connectivity options, including Wi-Fi,
Bluetooth, and GPS. The Moto E3 is powered by a 2800mAh battery. Not much else is
known about the smartphone at this point, but Motorola has confirmed (via The Verge) the
smartphone will feature a "built-in smudge-resistant screen protector."
Motorola separately confirmed (via Pocket-Lint) the UK pricing of the Moto G4 Play smartphone that was unveiled back in May - it will cost GBP 129 (roughly Rs. 11,500), and become available in mid-August in the country.
